About Red Barn Studio

Red Barn Studio was founded in 2018 to reignite our innate passion for food, cooking and eating. Red Barn Studio’s mission is to teach people how to use, celebrate and enjoy the resplendent bounty of the lower Catskill Mountain region. With an emphasis on the environment, foraging, sustainability and where food comes from, our hands-on classes, workshops and special events offer interactive, educational experiences, knowledge and techniques that can be used at home.  Our intention is to bring slow food traditions and knowledge into modern life.

We are makers, constant foragers, anglers, gardeners, fans of the farmers market - eating locally and making good food from scratch is what we do! We ferment, make cheese, bread, baked goods and honor age-old techniques,

We work with many local farms: Willow Wisp Organic Farm, Hilly Acres Farms and Tonjes Farm Dairy, M & S Goat Farms; for fresh raw goat’s milk - to name a few.

Cheryl Perry - A former New York City restaurant and bakery owner, who has been a culinary instructor for 20+ years is the founder Red Barn Studio.  She is the author of For the Love of Pie, a cookbook published by Gibbs Smith.  The book is an homage her never-ending love of everything pie and her bakery of 11 years, Pie Corps.

All classes are held at the restaurant of her beloved friend Henning Nordanger.
