About Red Barn Studio

Founded in 2018, Red Barn Studio's mission is to teach people how to use, celebrate and enjoy the resplendent bounty of the lower Catskill Mountain region.  With an emphasis on the environment, foraging, sustainability and where food comes from, our hands-on classes offer interactive, educational experiences, knowledge and techniques that can be used at home.  Our intention is to bring slow food traditions and knowledge into modern life.

We're after honest food, nothing packaged, nothing in a box with unnameable and unknowable ingredients.  We are makers, constant foragers, anglers, gardeners, fans of the farmer's market - eating locally and making good food from scratch is what we do!

We work with: Willow Wisp Organic Farm, Hilly Acres Farms and Tonjes Farm Dairy - to name a few... and the rest, we pick, harvest, preserve and forage ourselves.

Cheryl Perry - former restaurant and bakery owner, who has been a culinary instructor on and off for 20+ years. She's a ceramicist and lead educator at Red Barn Studio.  Cheryl teaches our cheese-making classes, and most culinary and fermenting classes.

Felipa Lopez MS. L.Ac - acupuncturist with a practice in NYC and Barryville, NY.   She leads our Monthly guided meditations, she teaches Qi-Gong and is our lead for all things related to these practices.  She also leads our Natural Body Care classes.

Together they've written the cookbook For the Love of Pie, published by Gibbs Smith.  It's an homage to their never-ending love of everything pie and their bakery Pie Corps.

Classes are held in two locations:

Henning's Local - 6 Old County Road, Cochecton, NY 12726

Red Barn Studio - 472 State Route 55 Barryville, NY 12719
