What's Coming in 2019 - New Monthly and Ongoing Classes

Our mission at Red Barn Studio is to promote learning and creativity in the kitchen and to remind everyone that cooking is fun, nourishing, and creative. There is so much to learn in the kitchen - it’s inspiring and so easy to expand your horizons. Plus, when we add education, knowledge, and experience to our lives, we grow.

With this in mind we’re expanding our offerings this year to include classes and ongoing workshops that willl surely whet your appetite and get your culinary juices flowing.

Our first new offering is a monthly COOKBOOK CLUB! Yep, you heard that right - participants sign up to be part of a class that meets monthly and prepares a meal based on a cookbook we’ve selected. We will have an online groups for questions and comments throughout the month and part of our class will be a discussion about the book, and the opportunity to ask more questions about the book and techniques we’ve learned in class. We were thinking of starting with The Home Cook: Recipes to Know by Heart by Alex Guarnaschelli

Participants are asked to make a 3-month commitment and can cancel or re-sign up for more classes at any time. Our first class will be on Saturday May 4 - Click LINK to get more details

Our next series of classes will be the ULTIMATE series. These classes will feature recipes that are the ULTIMATE recipe to top all others in their category. Our first class will be on April 13, one week before Easter and will feature the ULTIMATE chocolate recipes… perfect to test your skills on Easter. We’ll make the ULTIMATE brownie, the ULTIMATE chocolate cubes for hot chocolate , the ULTIMATE chocolate pudding and the ULTIMATE chocolate chip cookie! Each subsequent class will be an ode to a specific flavor, technique or recipe and will feature the ultimate in that genre.

And last but not least, we’ll be offering a series of classes called Kitchen Ability. This 5-class series will highlight the most important skills every adult should know in the kitchen. You’ll build confidence and proficiency in the following skills; How to properly choose, use and sharpen your Knife - Basic Cooking Techniques, such as How to Sweat, Roast and Saute Vegetables (perfect skills for all of your farmer’s market goodies) - How to make a Stock and Broth, How to How to Roast a Chicken - How to make a Vinaigrette - How to Poach an Egg and make a Hollandaise - How to Make a Homemade Marinara Sauce + more… Click LINK for more information and pricing.

We’re so excited for our second season of classes and hope you can join us!
